During my recent business trip to Archidona, I found myself at Hotel Escua, a quaint spot with a castle-like charm that discreetly embraces its age. The location is ideal, being just a stone's throw from the A-92 motorway, offering easy access to explore the region, though do brace yourself for a bit of an uphill trek into the town. The highlight for me was the cozy fireplace in the café-bar; there's something about a crackling fire that adds a touch of warmth after cycling through the area's landscapes. The on-site restaurant serves three meals a day, which is perfect if you’re traveling with companions—it makes dining effortless without venturing far. Add to that the free Wi-Fi and clean, air-conditioned rooms, and you’ve got a comfortable base for your explorations. While the language barrier with the staff was a minor hurdle, their eagerness to assist made a positive impression. If you're someone who values character and convenience, Escua might just be your kind of place.
